Q: Hi – we have a volvo xc90 and the radio has stopped working or works hit or miss. Also the backup beeper doesn’t work. Ive read that the icm controls both and that you may have to have the computer reprogrammed if you switch radios. It seems that you cant easily do after market radios for this car. Do you know if I could have a shop swap your unit w/ mine and/or any issues to be concerned with?? Thanks for the help
A:If it goes to the back up sensors yes it is not going to work if ICM fails, it is all connected and if one stops working the other one will also stop working, now all you need to know in order to replace the ICM radio face plate if you have matrix or numeric display, the best is to look on the screen when it is turned off and see for dots, if you cant see any dots it means that it is matrix, if you see dots on the screen’s background it means that you have numeric display, after you swap ICM you don’t have to re porgram it, it works right away the only software you might need is for back up sensors, software is about $25 plus the labor hope it helps
here you will find volvo xc0 ICM for sale for less
