Q:My sound just went out on my hu-850 radio in my 2006 V70R. I saw your ad for the used hu-850 radio. You indicated that no code is needed to install the radio. When I spoke with the local volvo dealer, they indicated that a software update would be needed. Do you know if the software upgrade is needed with your radio? Do you know how to get the radio out of the car? Does the chrome trim come off first which would then expose screws or clips which hold in the radio? Is the removal and installation very difficult? Is there anything else I will need to install the radio and have it working? correctly?

A:There is no software needed, it is plug and play, dealer just want the money, it is very easy to remove it, but please make sure it is not an amplifier or blown fuse , to me it looks like it is burnt amplifier or blown fuse unless dealer already diagnose it, check the fuse on the left side of the dash also these hu-850 don’t have internal amps and perhaps this is the problem, amplifier is located under the passenger seat, also easy to remove, please let me know I do have amp and it is also plug and play no software needed,
