Q:When I took it the dealership they told me that each individual radio is programmed for the vehicle it is put into. They said they don’t have the programming to reset the radio I purchased to my vehicle nor have they heard of being able to reset a new radio to the vehicle. They said it would have to come from the Volvo dealership which is 1100$. On the radio in yellow pen are the numbers 47292. there is also a sticker that has different numbers. It includes 30679226. 05W01E-03. MA01310-0127. SN26240.Let me know.

A:It happens every time anybody goes to the dealer with ICM issue, volvo dealer simply want everyone to purchase new icm for bargain price which is $1100 just the part itself, it is not needed to purchase a new ICM, it can be substituted with working used ICM that needs to be matched with old one, there are cases that it needs software download after  installation but it is easy to do process and cost around $150. when purchasing used ICM you need to make sire that you are getting correct type and it is also goo to be closest to production date as possible 05W01 would mean 2005 week 1 and it is recommended to be closest to this date as possible
