2011 volvo xc70 dashboard rattling noise

Q:

I’m writing to You cause of one problem which hasn’t been unfortunately solved in my 2011 Volvo Xc70. Whenever the temp drops below 10 degrees (and i need to heat/unfroze windshield), I begin hearing a rattle in the dashboard. It’s seems towards the windshield and on the center/ side of the dash.I can actually get it to stop if I press on top of the dashboard toward the middle couple of times (it can be seen in my video at the beginning). The problem seems to be common – on many forums i can read about it…but no solution. Dealer also don’t know what it is. Other dealers (forum users) apparently said that warranty won’t cover dashboard ‘rattles’. My warranty comes to an end so i would like to know if there is any solution for this ? Volvo for sure know about that thing. i can try to fix it at home but i would like to know how i can do it, and what exactly is the reason for this noise (i assume its from heating system or something).

A:I wish I could have a solution for you but since these are fairly new cars these problems are slowly starting to come out, I personally didn’t hear about that from anybody, what could happen is that something is loose in  there and thats why you are getting that noise, you can always try to remove the dashboard and see if there is something loose in there, I wouldn’t go to any shop just try to figure it out on your own because they are going to charge a lot and it is not guaranteed to solve your problem,
